TMA Tech Tips

Desktop
Work Order Status E-mails - TMA can e-mail an update to your customers when there is a status change on a work order. By default, the software will always send e-mails for work requests converted into work orders and when a work order is closed. Go to Organization>Lookups>Status Types. E-mails can be sent to any status with the Notify box checked.

WebTMA
Preference to Clear Quick Post Labor Fields - With release 3.1.3.22A, your organization can opt to automatically clear the Quick Post fields when a labor line is added by changing settings. Go to Admin > Setup / Preferences. Mark the check box labeled Clear quick post fields when adding labor line if you want the fields to clear when users click the Add button on the window. The default is for the fields to stay populated with the previously entered data.

TMA Spotlight Feature

Desktop
Open Distribution Lines - You can set up a Purchase Order in TMA to auto post to a work order when the item is received. If you attempt to close a work order before the item has been received, a message will be displayed. The user will have the opportunity to cancel the open distribution item.

WebTMA
The Browse Tab shows a list of all records in the system that relate to the particular module. You can create your own Custom Browse Queries and make them available to others or restrict them to your Repair Center or to the person who created the query.

How to Create a Custom Browse Query

The Browse window has a small toolbar on the window that includes Add, Edit, and Delete buttons.

Use these buttons to create, edit, or remove Custom queries.

  1. Click the Add button on the Browse window.

  2. Type a Query Name in the first field.
Note: The Query Name is the way you identify your query, so make it meaningful. However, all names must be unique throughout WebTMA.
  3. Click the down arrow in the lowest field to select the field code.
  4. Click the down arrow in the adjacent field to select the argument.
  5. Type the argument criteria in the next field (if required).
  6. Select the columns desired from the All Columns field.
  7. Click the right pointing arrows >> button to move selected columns to the Display Columns field.
  8. (Optional) Select a Repair Center to restrict access to members of that Repair Center.
  9. (Optional) Mark the Private Query check box to restrict this query to the person who created it.
  10. Click the Save Query button.
