TMA Tech Tip

Desktop

Bookmarking - Did you know that you can save a record in TMA if you need to access it frequently? Just as if you were to bookmark a favorite web site on the internet, you can also bookmark a regularly used record in TMA. Here's how:

  • Browse to the regularly used record
  • Click on File > Bookmarks > Add Bookmark
  • When you want to return to that record quickly, click on File > Bookmarks
  • Select the bookmarked record

WebTMA

Red Asterisk - You will notice a red asterisk * beside buttons such as Authorize, Estimates, and Linked Documents on various windows.

As a rule, this symbol is present when a document is attached or an estimate has been created.

The Authorize button, however, is one exception. When a red asterisk appears beside the Authorize button, it indicates an authorization is required.

TMA Spotlight Feature

Desktop

Vehicle Tracking - All your Vehicles can be recorded and tracked using the Vehicles function. TMA software uses your unique Vehicle Tag # as the basis of the record. Several windows provide options to store various kinds of data including:

  • Purchase information
  • Location
  • Mileage
  • Fuel and oil costs
  • Open requests
  • Work Order history
  • Parts
  • PM Schedules

Additionally, if a Vehicle is moved from one location to another, you can use the Vehicle Transfers window to change the Location ID. This is an easier process than opening each Vehicle record. Records marked Inactive cannot be transferred. Multiple vehicles with matching locations and/or departments can be transferred at one time as well as the option to include child items in the transfer.

WebTMA

Check the Windows Taskbar to locate "hidden" popup or secondary windows.

If you open a popup or secondary window and click the main window in the background without closing or saving, the secondary window remains open and can create confusion.

Example: After leaving a secondary window open, you click the page in the background and click a down arrow for a different selection box. Nothing seems to happen when you click the next down arrow because the open secondary window is hidden behind the main window.

Click the WebTMA Selection window button on the taskbar:

The secondary window is visible once more.
